innis awards needing app

While the table of all Innis-based scholarships is great to be comprehensive, this page just highlights those scholarships at Innis that require an application, and the deadlines involved.

At Innis, most scholarships requiring an application are leadership awards — awards that recognize extracurricular engagement and commitment, at least as highly as academic achievement. And the leadership awards are in turn divided up this way: admission awards (prospective students apply), in-course awards (students already here and returning next year), graduation (for students graduating in the upcoming June or who DID graduate last November) and residence (a special set of awards for leadership within the Residence). Finally, there is a last section for a special award requiring submission of a piece of academic work.

All these awards can be seen in more detail on the scholarships table.

The College will also recognize the top student in Arts and the top student in Sciences who graduated in November 2014 or June 2015 as our Governor General’s Silver Medal Nominee — and the top student of all will receive the Principal’s Award. These do not require application; we will look at results when marks are out after the 2014-2015 academic session is over.

  • Taddle Creek Residence Life Awards (2014 competition deadline 21 November 2014 | application) – if you cannot show OSAP or other-province student loans, you will probably also need to fill in a grant application

Hungarian Helicon OSOTF Award (application information to come) – tentative deadline 2 April 2015

This award is special as a student applies with a piece of original academic work connected in some way to Hungary — to its culture, history, geography and so on. The recipient must be returning to undergraduate student at U of T, and It also requires confirmation that the applicant meets “OSOTF” award criteria, which include: (1) Canadian Citizenship/Permanent Residency; (2) Ontario residency; and (3) financial need. Receiving OSAP, for example, demonstrates eligibility in all three criteria for this award.

Student can be of ANY college, but, again, must be a returning student.
