WTF Wednesdays Presents: Liminal Space Film Festival!

October 29
 @ 7:30 pm
 - 11:00 pm

On Wednesday October 29, @TheyMightBeMovies + @CINSSU team up to present the first ever LIMINAL SPACE FILM FESTIVAL, 7:30-11pm at UofT’s @InnisCollege, theatre IN222. Doors 7:00; Free!

Featuring the Toronto premiere of the WEEKNIGHTS (2023) by NYC-based director @AlfredGiancarli of the @SpectacleNYC collective, who will be our visiting guest/speaker to introduce this screening and do a post-feature Q&A. With minimal dialogue and beautifully-haunting nighttime cinematography, WEEKNIGHTS follows three “lonely dudes in liminal spaces” working the overnight shift at an NYC university campus. If Lav Diaz or Béla Tarr grew up in The Bronx, their career-trajectory would’ve probably resembled WEEKNIGHTS.

Also featuring: short films by YOU! Yes, YOU! Because WEEKNIGHTS is set on a university campus in NYC, we thought we’d open it up to all UofT students to make your own liminal space themed shorts in any style — narrative, experimental, any format at all — about interesting places on UofT’s campus that evoke soothing or unsettling feelings of liminality. Submit your shorts to @TheyMightBeMovies on Instagram!

And, because it’s so close to Halloween — after the LFSS wraps up inside, join us outside afterwards for a campus ghost walk exploring UofT’s haunted history.
