Congratulations, Aliyyah Ahad (HBA ’12 Innis), on being selected as a 2025 Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leader.
One of forty-two emerging changemakers representing twenty-seven nationalities participating in the Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leader (ADEL) program, Aliyyah is the director and EU representative of the Government of Bermuda’s Brussels Office.
The ADEL program — a week-long leadership program in Rabat, Morocco — has been organized by the Policy Center for the New South for the past 10 years. Selected participants take part in a series of workshops, debates, site visits, and collaborative exchanges with experts. Aliyyah was one of four ADEL participants elected by her peers to take part in the Atlantic Dialogues closing panel, “Wider Atlantic Challenges Viewed by Emerging Leaders.”
“It was extremely valuable to have a space for reimagining and broadening traditional transatlantic dialogues, and to explore how we can create agile ‘coalitions of the willing’ to address the world’s most pressing challenges”
—Aliyyah Ahad
In March 2013, Aliyyah was named a 2014 Rhodes Scholar. The Rhodes Scholarships are among the world’s most prestigious postgraduate awards, with only 83 students from universities around the world chosen each year to pursue postgraduate studies at Oxford University. Read more on U of T News.
