Shalini Sharma
Shalini Sharma is an economist with a specialization in urban economics and has taught at the Department of Economics at UT Mississauga from 2002 to 2016. She has designed and taught courses in Urban Economics and Real Estate Economics (among several other economics courses) at UTM for many years. Currently, as Senior Research Associate at the Neighbourhood Research Change Partnership (NCRP) at the University of Toronto, she has worked on rental housing problems and now immigration settlement issues for the NCRP.
The focus of her research has been the growth of cities, export industry location, income inequality and neighbourhood change in Toronto and the impact of demand uncertainty on industry location decision. Dr. Sharma holds a B.A and M.A in economics from St. Xavier’s College and the University of Bombay and a Ph.D. in economics from Syracuse University, New York, USA.
