Alumna Tzeporah Berman makes TIME100 Climate List

Congratulations, Tzeporah Berman (BA ’92 Innis), on being named a “Defender” on the TIME100 Climate List.

Tzeporah is an environmental activist and organizer, who chairs the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative — the WHO-endorsed, nonprofit, global project to “accelerate a transition to renewable energy for everyone,” formed on the heels of the Paris Agreement.

“This isn't just about electrification,” explains Berman. “There has to be a shift in the systems that have supported the development of the fossil fuel political economy.”

In March 2021, Tzeporah delivered the annual Innis Alumni Lecture, “Pipelines, Politics, and Power: The Future of Fossil Fuels in a World on Fire.” Watch her talk, and her subsequent discussion with Thomas Homer-Dixon, on our YouTube channel.
