Eligibility

Our spaces can be booked by Innis College staff and faculty, Later Life Learning, and student groups recognized by Innis College.

Events Room

The Events Room is a versatile and popular venue for a variety of college activities – from large group meetings to catered social gatherings.

Before requesting the Events Room, consult this calendar to ensure the space is available. Note that the calendar is not updated in real time; the Events Room may appear available but be recently booked.

The Events Room can accommodate up to 90 people standing and up to 50 seated.

10 large, rectangular tables are also available.

Four layout options are presented below. You will indicate your layout preference in the request form.

The Events Room is equipped with a large LCD screen on the south wall. The screen connects wirelessly to a laptop, whether you bring your own or request one from us.

Ceiling-mounted speakers, distributed throughout the room, can also connect to your laptop and/or to a podium, equipped with a microphone.

Hybrid events can be accommodated by requesting the Meeting Owl Pro device, which offers a 360-degree sound-responsive camera, built-in speakers, and microphone.

You can request each of these devices in the booking form. Note that we cannot accommodate AV setups after 6pm.

Other amenities include a coat rack, filtered water dispenser, whiteboard, and bar-serving area (opened upon request).

The Events Room is located on the main floor of Innis Residence, directly off of the lobby. Automated sliding doors grant access to the lobby between 7am and 9pm. After-hours access is restricted to current residents and staff.

Three doors access the Events Room. None are automated, but all can be propped open. When fully retracted, the two large sliding doors open the room up to the lobby.

Two gender-neutral washrooms are located off of the lobby. Please direct any accessibility inquiries to residence.innis@utoronto.ca.

Lobby

The residence lobby is frequently booked in conjunction with the Events Room and/or the Quad — as an extension of those spaces. Also, student groups often set up a table in the lobby to distribute information or tickets to students passing through.

Before requesting the Lobby, consult this calendar to ensure the space is available. Note that the calendar is not updated in real time; the Lobby may appear available but be recently booked.

Approximately 20 people can comfortably stand in the lobby at a given time.

Up to five large, rectangular tables and chairs can be setup along the windows facing the quad—accommodating up to 10 seated.

Note that because the lobby is a highly-used corridor for building residents, furniture placement must not obstruct the flow of foot traffic.

The lobby is located on the ground level of Innis Residence. It can be accessed from from St. George Street via automated sliding doors or from the residence quad through power-assisted doors.

Access to/from the lobby is restricted to residents and staff between 9pm and 7am.

Two gender-neutral washrooms are accessible via the lobby. Please direct any accessibility inquiries to residence.innis@utoronto.ca.

Quad

The Quad is a multifunctional outdoor area that can accommodate various large- and small-group social events, including barbecues.

Before requesting the Quad, consult this calendar to ensure the space is available. Note that the calendar is not updated in real time; the Quad may appear available but be recently booked.

The Quad can seat 48 people around six picnic tables. Two fixed benches can accommodate another 14.

A retractable awning along the western edge of the quad lined the western edge of the quad above the entrance to the lobby.

Upon request, four double-doors can be propped open to allow guests to flow more freely between the quad and lobby.

Upon request, a permanent barbecue and concrete serving area are available at the eastern edge of the Quad.

The Quad is located on the ground level of Innis Residence. It can be accessed from the lobby through power-assisted doors and from the laneway behind (i.e., east of) the residence through two gates.

Access to/from the lobby is restricted to residents and staff from 9pm until 7am.

Two gender-neutral washrooms are accessible via the lobby. Please direct any accessibility inquiries to residence.innis@utoronto.ca.
