“A tonally nuanced and emotionally complicated tale.” (ScreenDaily)
Shlomi is an 18-year-old Israeli soldier who panics during a battle in the Gaza strip and goes AWOL. Despite several misadventures, he manages to evade the authorities, but things get even more complicated when his military superiors assume that he has been taken prisoner. When they initiate a forceful rescue action that will cause more violence and bloodshed, Shlomi is faced with a terrible dilemma. This critically acclaimed film, written and directed by Dani Rosenberg (Of Dogs and Men), and released just two months before October 7, poignantly reflects on the tragic absurdity of war, as seen through the eyes of the next generation.
