Documentary Screening & Discussion: SEWOL: Years in the Wind

The Korean Office for Research and Education (KORE) at York University, in collaboration with TORONTO DOCU and Sewol Toronto, is pleased to announce a special screening of the documentary SEWOL: Years in the Wind. This event is organized to mark the twelfth anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster.

The event will feature a full screening of the documentary, followed by a Q&A session with co-director Moon Jong-taek.

About the Film

After April 16, 2014, a father took up a camera and became a documentary filmmaker. SEWOL: Years in the Wind documents the decade following the Sewol ferry disaster which claimed 304 lives, most of them high school students through the eyes and hearts of the bereaved families. The film is created from an extensive archive of footage recorded over 3,654 days, as Moon carried his camera throughout ten years of mourning and struggle.
