Chandler Levack Named One of Toronto Life’s Most Influential Torontonians of 2025

The results are in! Toronto Life has named the “50 Most Influential Torontonians of 2025” and Chandler Levack (HBA ’11 Innis, Cinema Studies) has made the list!

Chandler has been named 2025’s thirty-ninth most influential Torontonian “for creating irresistible time capsules” – a reference to her recent films I Like Movies (2022) and Mile End Kicks (2025), which garnered critical acclaim for their fresh take on the Millennial teenage experience. Mile End Kicks has been named one of TIFF’s Top Ten Films of 2025.

Congratulations to Chandler and to Sarah Polley, who was named the forty-seventh most influential Torontonian on the 2025 list. On June 17, 2024, Sarah received an honorary degree from the University of Toronto and gave a convocation address to Innis College’s graduating class. Sarah won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2023 Academy Awards for her film Women Talking.

"I have to make a movie or I'm going to die.”

In March 2023, Chandler was interviewed by Exclaim about her feature film debut I Like Movies (2022). Read more about Chandler’s story here.
