Winston LaRose, champion of Toronto’s Black community, receives honorary degree

Community advocate and friend of the College, Winston LaRose, was duly recognized by the University with an honorary degree at Innis’s June 23 Convocation ceremony.

Dr. LaRose was joined on stage by alumnus and fellow activist Kofi Hope (HBA ’06 Innis), who also moderated an Innis-hosted screening of the documentary Mr. Jane and Finch in August 2020 that chronicles Winston LaRose’s important work in the eponymous Toronto neighbourhood.
